TABLE TALK #61

Welcome to Table Talk. This week we are sharing our guide to cooking, hosting, and enjoying the holidays. We have rounded up our favourite recipes, wine recommendations and entertaining hacks for last-minute inspiration ahead of the big day. Share them with your family, friends, and colleagues, and have yourself a merry little Christmas.

šŸ” AMUSE-BOUCHESĀ šŸ”

Last-minute gifts: look no further than Trouva, the best one-stop shop for all local and independent businesses.
Itā€™s not too late!: Skate at Somerset House is running until the 15 Jan, if you want to squeeze in some festive London cheer.
Carols by Candlelight: if you find yourself up north this winter, theĀ Durham Cathedral Christmas carols are something to behold.

šŸ MAIN COURSE šŸ
Ā Christmas covered.
It may be the most wonderful time of the year, but Christmas is not without its hurdles. If you need some extra help to make the day go as smoothly as possible, look no further:Ā
What to cook: the wise among us will likely have planned the perfect Christmas menu by now, and fully stocked the fridge with all the necessary trimmings. But for last-minute chefs, never fear! Thereā€™s still time to rustle up a mouth-watering lunch. And who says it must consist of turkey and roast potatoes? We love the inspiration of Ottolenghiā€™sfestive roast chicken with clementines and arak, or Jamie Oliverā€™s vegan Christmas tart. Ixta Belfrage delivers the goods with these inventive recipes, and who could resist Nadiya Hussainā€™s festive pudding ideas?

What to drink: Christmas day feels like the perfect day to shake up a glamorous cocktail. This pomegranate gin fizz is a tried and tested favourite, and can be made with alcohol-free gin if wanted. Alternatively, we recommend this exceptional crĆ©mant as your bubbles of choice ā€“ a fraction of price of champers with no compromise on flavour. For mains, Sanguine or Piquant are always great company, alternatively, you can browse The Times' holiday wine recommendations here.
What to listen to: Michael Bubleā€™s Christmas album is the entire worldā€™s go-to for a reason, but if you simply cannot listen to his mellow tones for another year, might we recommend some old favourites likeJames Brown, Nat King Cole and Elvis Presley, or newer artists such asShe & Him.Ā
What to do: the post-lunch walk is a time-honoured tradition, but if the weather is simply too awful to face, you could tuck into a good film, or start up a round of one of these games.
šŸ® SWEET ENDINGSĀ šŸ®
Rocking around the Christmas tree.
Get into the festive mood with our seasonal sing-alongs from the likes of Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and Sam Cooke, and some not-so-expected extras.Ā Link here.

šŸ· WHAT'S NEW
FROM
WEDNESDAY'S DOMAINE? šŸ·

Since we spoke last week, we've completed our last bottling run of the year, enjoyed our first ever team Christmas lunch and braved the elements hauling bottles of Wednesday's Domaine across London to various tastings. Variety is most definitely the spice of life, as they say, but we couldn't have had more fun and know that it all feeds into our promise of delivering great tasting, beautifully branded alcohol free wines to you this Christmas (and any time of year for that matter).

Until next week,

The Wednesday's Domaine Team.Ā
