When World Cup fever grips the nation and It’s Coming Home ripples down every airwave, it’s hard not to be swept up in the collective merriment and mania bought about by a major championship.

The Scottish Open Chainsaw Carving Competition: Quite literally what it says on the tin. A day where arborists become artists and wizardry is performed on wood.

The World Bog Snorkelling Championships: As it sounds, a competition where you snorkel the length of a weedy, Welsh bog, as fast as you can flipper. Fancy dress is mission critical.

The Wok Racing World Championships: Quite possibly our favourite. A race, aboard modified Chinese woks, down Olympic bobsleigh tracks. You couldn’t make it up.

The World Toe Wrestling Championships: Invented by four pals in a pub and still hosted in one too. Competitors take to the toedium, lock toes, then play best of three.
- The World Stone Skimming Championships: An annual competition, hosted on Easdale Island, where competitors vie for the greatest distance skimmed. Age is no barrier with any ‘old tossers’ over 60 being entered into a heat of their own.

🍮 SWEET ENDINGS 🍮
For those of you whose competitive streak is strictly culinary, there’s always The World Porridge Making Championship to consider.
An annual fight for the golden spurtle - a spurtle being the traditional wand-like implement used for stirring porridge - but painted gold and popped on a plinth.
We may or may not know this from competing ourselves.

🍷 WHAT'S NEW
FROM
WEDNESDAY'S DOMAINE? 🍷
Over the last couple of weeks, its felt like the sluice gates have opened and press coverage just keeps flowing.
An absolute highlight though was being listed as the only still wine in last week's Guardian article recommending "Six Great NoLo Drinks and Wines".
A real joy to be showcased alongside so many industry friends and others pushing the envelope in the space.
