TABLE TALK #76
Itâs amazing what can change in a week. Last week, I was lamenting the premature end of winter and doing my best to hold onto cosy afternoons spent in front of a fire.
Having seen a few glimpses of the sun these past few days, I barely recognise the man who wrote those words and I can imagine you feel exactly the same - goodbye winter, roll on spring!

The Easter weekend is glorious on many levels. A four day weekend. Unlimited chocolate. The chance to gorge endlessly on food and drink, or to simply lay low and recharge. The choice is yours, and that doesnât happen all too often.
Thinking about what we are going to eat this weekend - fingers crossed for roasted lamb finished on the barbecue this Sunday - got me thinking about a conversation I had around Christmas with our local fishmonger, the brilliant Life of Fish.
be tucking into roast lamb or a delightfully crispy nut roast, know that your Argentinian friends are likely tucking into a 33 layer Pascualina pie or that your Lithuanian neighbour might be enjoying Cepelinai, a delicious meat-filled potato dumpling.
I donât know about you, but Iâm thinking lamb could be yesterdayâs news come Easter 2024âŚ
A traditional Easter lunch
Amongst a host of celebratory favourites, they mentioned that they had sold an incredible amount of carp throughout December. Surprised but intrigued, I asked who ate carp at that time of year and was promptly informed that this was part of a typical Polish Christmas, of which there was a large community locally. Hearing this made my day and reminded me of the myriad different ways we celebrate seemingly homogenous occasions.
So this Easter, whilst you may be tucking into roast lamb or a delightfully crispy nut roast, know that your Argentinian friends are likely tucking into a 33 layer Pascualina pie or that your Lithuanian neighbour might be enjoying Cepelinai, a delicious meat-filled potato dumpling.
I donât know about you, but Iâm thinking lamb could be yesterdayâs news come Easter 2024âŚ

đˇÂ WHAT'S NEW
FROM
WEDNESDAY'S DOMAINE? đˇ
Itâs been another busy week as we criss-crossed the capital serving our wines at some of the cityâs most exciting events.
This weekâs highlight came on Monday, which saw Wednesdayâs Domaine served by the glass at the brilliant Sabrina Giddaâs book launch, hosted at the ever-supportive and ever-wonderful Italian Greyhound.
Enjoy the long weekend,
